It is hard to keep a family together these days, but Demi Moore is doing it with the help of the two important men in her life - husband Ashton Kutcher and ex-husband Bruce WillisWhere so many divorces and breakups turn bitter, Demi and ex Bruce Willis have become the exception to the rule and have worked extremely hard to keep a good relationship for the benefit of their three daughters despite their divorce.
She now considers Willis a close friend not only of hers, but also of husband Ashton Kutcher. She's even brought a third ex into the mix by working with ex-fiance, Emilio Estevez, in her latest role in the film Bobby.
Moore is talking for the first time about her unconventional arrangement in which both Willis and Kutcher play an active role in the lives her daughters - Rumer, 18, Scout, 14, and Tallulah, 12.
"Bruce is a wonderful father. He's present and he's involved," says Demi.
"I feel so unbelievably fortunate to have a relationship with our whole family.
"It is in a very different form than the traditional, but I feel that my children have a father who is present, so they don't need somebody to replace him.
"But they also have somebody who loves them, guides them and who has a different perspective and is incredibly wise.
"We spend all our holidays together and if Bruce wants to stop by and have dinner, he can just call and come by.
"I don't think it is unique. I think it is something we can all do when we place our children as the priority."
Demi doesn't see her age difference with Kutcher as a problem either. The couple have been together for three years and married just over one.
"Ashton is unusually mature and wise and we feel it was two souls meeting and that didn't have anything to do with our age," she explains.
"My husband just may be the best husband in the world... and he's not too bad to look at either."
Following her divorce from Willis, Moore made the decision to take a break from Hollywood leaving behind a career as one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses.
Now that the girls are gown, she says she's looking forward to working again. "What was important were my children."
"Whenever there's a divorce in a family, it can be very difficult for the children.
"I knew if I wasn't with them they could have bigger problems than normal teens. I wasn't retiring from acting, I figured I'd do it again when I could.
"Now work has become important again because my children were starting to ask if I was ever going to work again."
She adds with a smile: "I'm really happy to be back."
