Author Plum Sykes Expecting

The West Village was a hotbed of fashion action last night for the launch of Plum Sykes’ new novel, The Debutante Divorcée, a fun, tongue-in-cheek sequel to her debut Bergdorf Blondes. Hostess Allison Sarofim had her Bank Street townhouse dripping in party-perfect pink for the occasion—down to the strawberry ice cream at the dessert bar, Plum-tini cocktails, and a custom menu she designed. “I slaved over this food for a week,” she laughed.

Sykes may know how to write a must-read about divorce, but she’s not living out her book, that’s for sure. Surrounded by dozens of blossoming tulips and a mile-high pile of books elegantly displayed against candlelight, Sykes and her husband, Toby Rowland, had more than a few reasons to be glowing. They’re expecting their first child this September, it was revealed. “I used to be concave,” the author joked to friends. “Now I’m just thin.”
