Madonna's Adoption Moving Forward (Again)

In a dramatic reversal of fortune, Madonna's adoption of Mercy James from Malawi is moving forward again.

According the the British newspaper, The Sun, three judges in an appeals court ruled in the popstars favor. The new decision is a complete about face from a lower court's ruling that blocked her application in March.

The March ruling was based on a Malawian law that requires prospective parents to live in the country for 18 months before they are allowed to adopt a child. Since Madonna makes her home in London, the court denied her application.

In the new ruling, the appeal judges indicate that the law is out of date and allows her to go ahead with the adoption.
