Madonna has issued her first statement since a judge approved her appeal to adopt three-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James from Malawi."I am extremely grateful for the Supreme Court's ruling on my application to adopt Mercy James," Madonna says through her spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg.
"I am ecstatic. My family and I look forward to sharing our lives with her," shes adds. The star previously adopted son David Banda, 3, from Malawi in 2006.
