Harrison Ford is a Little Less Self-Centered

Actor Harrision Ford takes pride in being a dad and is enjoying his role in helping to raise girlfriend Calista Flockhart's 7-year-old son, Liam.

"It's made me just a tiny bit less self-centered," he says of his relation with Flockhart and Liam.

"She's brought a child back into my home," he tells Reader's Digest. "It's a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff."

Ford goes on to call Flockhart "the best [mom] in the world."

"She's a mother by choice," he adds. "She adopted Liam before we met, as a single parent which is an awesome responsibility to take. She's devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I'm happy to now have a part of the job."

Ford and Flockhart have been dating since 2002.
