Parenthood isn't all smiles and fun times as Jason Priestley and wife Naomi Lowde-Priestley discovered after bringding daughter Ava home from the hospital. As soon as they got their 7-pound, 4-ounce daughter home from the hospital, Ava tested them with a sleepless night. According to Priestley, she literally "cried all night," Priestley says. "We came home from the hospital and were like, 'Is this what it is like?'"
Thankfully, it was just a bump in the road and Ava is settling into her new family just fine. "She is very mellow," Naomi says.
"You gotta be involved," says Priestley. "The other day I had her on my chest and she peed on me. But babies are like bunny rabbits. When they pee on you, it means they like you."
Priestley adds, "The first time I saw her, time stood still. It took my breath away."
The couple also reveal how they selected the name Ava. Jason says, "We thought that Ava Priestley had a nice ring to it. It's old-school and beautiful. I know there have been a few Ava babies in Hollywood, but we were undeterred! Besides, the names Apple and Ryder were already taken."
