Cuba Gooding Jr. has often played the role of a hero in his films, but on Memorial Day the actor played one in real life.
Gooding went to make a quick stop and pick up dinner for his family at Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n' Waffles in Hollywood when he came upon an apparent gunshot victim according to the New York Daily News.
The actor was sitting in his car outside the restaurant "when he heard four gunshots." He ten "saw a young kid holding his head and walked toward him. The kid was bleeding from his neck and collapsed."
The actor went to assist the victim and called into the restaurant for towels according to his rep. He cradeled the victim and helped stemm the bleeding. He then flagged down a passing police car and waited with the injured young man until an ambulance arrived.
Gooding, 39, and wife Sara, 37, are have three children, sons Spencer, 12, and Mason, 10, and 2-year-old daughter, Piper.
