Just a note to let you know that posts may be sporatic for the next few days. My dad had a minor stroke last night and is in the hospital. I will be posting as a distraction between visits at the hospital.

Update - My dad is doing much better today. He has regained most of his speech already, but is having major issues with balance and vertigo which make it difficult for him to walk. The doctors are planning to move him to a re-hab facility as early as tomorrow. All things are pointing towards a positive recovery. Thank you all for all your well wishes. I truly appreaciate all your kind words.
Another Update - My dad is doing really well and they are moving him to a rehab facility today (it was held up due to the holiday). It looks like he is only going to need a week at the rehab place before they send him home. The doctors are expecting him to make a full recovery and be back up to full speed before fishing season starts this summer.

ReplyDeletei hope ur dad is ok. mine has a brain tumour and he's been told he ain't ever gonna get better-he's in and out of hospital a lot but i don't live at home so it's not real noticeable.

Update from Emma:
ReplyDeleteThank you all. He's doing alright and improved quite a bit yesterday. He hadn't eaten or drinken in a few days and now that he's been on an IV and they've gotten him to eat something he's talking better.
I hope your dad will be ok. I'll keep your family in my thoughts!

With the dizzyness, be sure to look into a physical therapist who does Vestibular rehab - most patients have that fixed in only a few sessions.
