Ellen Pompeo: A Different Shade of Grey
Ellen Pompeo looks bright and fresh on the cover of the May 2010 issue of California Style magazine.
On keeping it real for daughter Stella Luna:
"Stella Luna's schedule is what's important right now. Her life doesn't need to be as chaotic as mine. In the afternoon, she goes out into the yard under the olive trees to watch the birds and my dogs. She knows exactly when her bottle is coming. She doesn't need much more than that.. And I'm at work saying, 'Let's hurry it up so I can get out of her at 4:30.'"
On the paparazzi attention:
"I'm a big girl so I can handle the scrutiny. I signed up for this life, and it's a luxury problem to have. But I want to keep my daughter out of it."
On Grey's Anatomy:
"If the show ended right now, I'd still be thrilled. I want to do something different and go on auditions again and do something scary. Maybe I've forgotten how to act? Maybe I'll be Meredith Grey forever."

Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy Heads to Showtime
Lisa Kudrow will soon be returning to television. The actress' hit online series, Web Therapy, has been picked up by Showtime.
The cable channel will air the quirky 45-episode project by converting the orignal five-to-10 minute clips into a series of half-hour episodes. New content will be produced to fill out the entire 30 minutes.
"I'm a huge Lisa Kudrow fan, and I think it's a clever show she's put together," says Robert Greenblatt, Showtime entertainment president. "It's a great little coup for us."
The series stars Kudrow as a therapist who holds her sessions over a webcam. Her sessions such guest stars as Jane Lynch, Rashida Jones and Courteney Cox-Arquette.

Tori Spelling Heading to Daytime?
Is Tori Spelling graduating from reality TV to daytime talk?
ABC is reportedly developing a daytime talk show for 90210 alum.
The show, which is in early development, would feature Spelling and a male co-host. (Perhaps one of the 'guncles' or BFF Mehran from Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood?)
This would be a new endeavor for the mom of Liam, 3, and Stella, 22 months, who is already an actress, reality star, jewelry designer, children's clothing designer, and author.

Jennifer Lopez Talks Motherhood and Flabby Bellies
Jennifer Lopez has come to terms with many of the issues that plague working moms after welcoming twins, Emme and Max, in February 2008. This week the icon, who was just named US Weekly's Style Icon of the Decade, talks with the magazine about her life today.
Some highlights:
On her body after baby:
"I remember my flabby belly hanging out right after I gave birth. kind of laughed and said to Marc, 'Look, baby! Isn't this crazy?' I just didn't care."
On her view of her 'belly' today:
T"I look back at pictures from that time, and I'm like 'Oh, god, I was fat. I was still heavy eight months out!'"
On her inspiration to shed 50 pounds and get her famous body back in shape:
"You get to the point where you're like, Where am I? What happened to me? I got to get myself together for my kids, you know? They need to know what I really look like."
On the reality of her body after the babies:
"Before I was always able to fit into sample-size clothes from designers, and now they have to take them out just a bit...It's no big deal."

Alyssa Milano: The 80's Were My Prime!
Actress Alyssa Milano may be best known for her rolls on Who's the Boss and Charmed. Now the icon of the '80s and '90s is back on TV with a new sitcom Romantically Challenged in which she plays a single mom facing love in the modern dating pool.
On having a 15-year-old onscreen son:
"He's, like, a foot taller than me. It is a little odd but no big deal to play a mom. I'm a really maternal, Italian woman, so I kind of mother everyone anyway."
On her plans for adding kids to her family (she married husband David Bugliari in August):
"Yeah, I mean, we would definitely like to have children. We have no plans to start trying right now. But I want a family, without a doubt."
On married life:
"Getting married is the best thing I've ever done. We live on five acres, and we have horses in the backyard, and three dogs and a beautiful home. We're very blessed and we do a lot of giggling."

Christina Aguilera Is More Comfortable In Her Skin
Christina Aguilera has found a new confidence in herself since becoming a mother to 2-year-old son Max.
“I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin,” she said in a new interview with Q100’s Bert Show in Atlanta.
“I think [I’m] even a more sexual Christina … it’s just something that’s happening inside of me at this point in my life.”
Her transformation is both internal and external.
“Seeing your body do these things you never thought possible," she says. When you have a baby, you go through a period where your body just is not your own. It becomes for your child and that’s it. It is not for you anymore.”
Now that Max is getting a little older, the songstress has decided to return to recording with her new album Bionic hitting stores in June.

Carnie Wilson Talks Parenting in the Public Eye
Singer and game show host Carnie Wilson recently sat down for a new interview with Babble. In the interview, the mom-of-two talks about the media scrutiny of her weight and motherhood in the public eye.
On her parenting philosophy for daughters - Lola, 5, and Luciana, 11 months:
"You can never give your child too much love and praise, and, at the same time, it’s important to build their self-esteem. There are people of all different shapes and sizes, and I try to teach Lola that people aren’t as sensitive as she is. She’s almost five, and that’s the age kids in school start to tease each other. It hurts her. I try to teach her that you can have thick skin, but still be sensitive."
On managing tantrums in public:
"Lola doesn’t really have tantrums in public; we’re lucky. When we go into a store, she says, 'Mommy, I want this'” and I tell her no, but she doesn’t get mad. You have to learn to barter with them; kids should know they can’t always get what they want, and the world doesn’t revolve around them. Sometimes – I don’t know if it’s me laying a guilt trip on her – but I’m honest. I say, 'You have so many toys at home, and there are some kids who have no toys at all,' and she stops and thinks. I feel bad for parents who have to go through [public tantrums], but, honestly, it’s their fault for not taking care of it in the first place."
On her plan for giving her daughters a positive image about their bodies:
"I take it from a health angle. I tell them our bodies are sacred, and we have to take care of them. They’re fully aware I’m overweight. My daughter sees pictures of me when I was fifty pounds thinner, and I’ll say, 'That’s Mommy!' She’s learning what that means, and that what you put in your body makes you bigger or smaller, and what it means if your body is too big. I never look at [weight] like someone is less of a person or a bad person. When the day comes that she sees people who are thinner, I’ll tell her she has beautiful eyes, hair, smile. She’s Lola, and we have to celebrate that she was a gift from God."

Maggie Gyllenhaal Talks About Her Mommy Style
It can be hard to stay fashionable when you are a parent. Some days it's challenging to find time for a shower!
Oscar nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal talked with WWD over the weekend at the preview of Ann's Loft about her mommy style.
She explained, "I usually dress very practically. I have a three-year-old [daughter Ramona]. I bought this [Acne] dress today because you don't need a bra with it and I can wear it anytime I want to go out to dinner. That's what I'm looking for [as a consumer]. The things that I have that are outrageous and wild, and are made by fancy designers are usually things that I wore to something and were given to me. It's hard to reappropriate those pieces into your everyday wardrobe."

Note from Emma
Hi All,
The past year has been very difficult around our house. As many of our readers know, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of uterine cancer and I have become her primary caregiver.
The chaos that resulted from her medical needs which included two major surgeries, two rounds of daily radiation treatments, two compression fractures to her spine, four rounds of physical therapy, and more doctors appointment than I can count put Celebrity Moms on my back burner.
Thankfully, this week marks the one year anniversary since they found her last recurrence! Everything has finally calmed down and I am getting things back under control.
I am refocusing on the things that I enjoy which include this website. We've returned to frequent updates and are adding some additional contributors to help keep things going.
Today, we are officially moving off our blogspot to our dedicated site. You can now find all of our posts at: http://www.celebrity-moms.com
There are some more changes coming including a bunch of giveaways so please check back frequently.
To all of our dedicated readers thank you for immense understanding and we hope you keep coming back!

Alison Sweeney Talks Motherhood to Working Mother
Days of our Lives actress and The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney is featured in the current issue of Working Mother Magazine. In the accompanying interview, the busy mom of Ben, 4, and Megan, 1, talks motherhood, being a working mom and her own struggles with weight.
Here are some of the highlights:
On striking the balance between parenthood and career:
"It’s hard to strike that 50-50 mark each day, but if I look at a whole week or month, I feel that overall I get to spend a lot of time with my children. And when I’m with them, I give them my full attention. When I go to work, I give work my full attention and commitment. Everyone has doubts occasionally, but it’s important to know you’re doing the best you can. And if you regret a decision, make a different choice next time."
On dealing with separation anxiety:
"There was a period when he didn’t want me to leave. At first, I made
the mistake of sneaking out. But his pediatrician said I should say goodbye. He reassured me that children behave that way even if you’re a stay-at-home mom going to the grocery store. He told me to allow Ben to go through the separation and to see that I always come back. Now we have a routine where we blow kisses. "
On working fitness into her daily routine:
"I eat healthy meals—my husband is a great griller. I schedule going to the gym into my days. I do a lot of cardio, especially spin classes. I also run, hike and do circuit training and yoga. I typically work out four or five days a week. Of course, sometimes it’s three days, sometimes it’s seven days. In my new book, The Mommy Diet [available in October], I encourage moms to take care of themselves."
On best surprise of becoming a mom:
"You can’t comprehend until you’re a mom how much your kids take over your whole world. Every decision I make, I’m always thinking how it will affect my children. I’ve gotten to the point that if I’m in the car by myself and I see a fire engine, I’ll say, “Hey, Ben, look at that,” and start waving at the truck. Then I realize I’m driving alone. [She laughs.] And the firefighters are probably thinking something totally different from what I was intending."
