Britney's VMA Comeback a Bust

By now you've probably heard that Britney Spears much anticpated comeback at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards was a big bust.

The performance of her new single "Gimme More" included a bad costume, lip-synching that didn't quite synch, and an overall boring performance. The perfomance featured a flashy red background with women dancing on stripper poles.

The singer has made several historic performances at prior VMAS - including dancing with a live snake and an infamous kiss with Madonna. Having set the bar high in years past, Spears was unable to live up to her own hype.

The currently untitled record is due to hit stores on November 13.

Not helping matters was the performance was immediately followed by a scathing review from comedian Sarah Silverman who said: "Wow. She is amazing. She is 25 years old and she's already accomplished everything she's going to accomplish in her life. It's mind blowing."

Silverman went a little over the line calling Spears sons Sean Preston and Jayden James "the most adorable mistakes you will ever see."

Check out the performance below.
