Jerry Seinfeld is back in the spotlight these days making standup appearances and getting ready for the release of the film, Bee Movie. He's been taking a few years off after wrapping up his popular TV show to raise his kids, Sascha, 6, Julian, 3, and Shepherd, 15 months, with wife Jessica Sklar-Seinfeld. Jerry recently sat down with OK magazine for their weekly quick chat. Here's an excerpt of the interview:What's the biggest surprise about being a dad?
Everything to me was a surprise. I didn't get married until I was 45. The biggest surprise is to see your single friends and suddenly you realize how pathetic they seem. I was one of those guy who said, "Oh, marriage and family, ball and chain, I don't want any part of that." I think the surprise was that I went from being a guy that wanted no part of it to a guy who can't believe there are people missing out on this. That was the biggest surprise for me."
Do you think your comedy has changed since having a family and kids?
It has. Nothing is funnier than a family. Being a comedian is the only solution to having a family, because otherwise I'd just go crazy. Marriage and family are the ultimate comedy gold mind."
What is the funniest question you remember one of your children asking you?
The funniest question came from my daughter. She's 6 now and has become aware of the television show. She asked me once, "Are you Jerry Seinfeld?"
