If it's true that living well is the best revenge, then Brooke Shields has gotten hers -- and big time. Tom Cruise, who attacked Shields for using anti-depressants to battle post-partum depression, has been unable to achieve serenity in the high-profile pregnancy of his fianceé, Katie Holmes. Exhibit A: this past Saturday, when Holmes went shopping at Maxfield in West Hollywood. A throng of photographers went wild, surrounding her as she left.
It's the latest chapter in what has turned into anything but a peaceful, serene pregnancy. The tumult is a far cry from the "peaceful" Scientology mantra that Cruise has advocated.
Cruise could only dream of the serenity that a very pregnant Brooke Shields seems to be enjoying. Shields spent part of her Easter Sunday decompressing at Kinara Spa in Los Angeles, looking like the picture of calm.
The fact is -- Katie may not be into the whole peaceful thing anyway. She seems to enjoy the melee. At least that is the way it seemed last week when she shopped for shoes at Barney's in Beverly Hills.
It may well be that Brooke has gotten the last laugh in her battle royale with Cruise.
