Michelle Pfeiffer: No Regrets About Putting Career on Hold

Michelle Pfeiffer has no regrets about her decision to step back from her film career to be a full-time mom to her children, Claudia, 16, and John, 14. –

"My family comes first," says Pfeiffer, who is married to TV producer David E. Kelley. For now, this busy working mom schedules her film time around the kids' school breaks.

"I have to do some face time with the family. The work that I do is all encompassing and it's not like an 8-to-5 job. Much of the time you leave before the kids are up and when you get home they're in bed and I feel like I can't be away all the time. But now there's Skye. It's great and I love that!"

And the downside of her daily routine?

"I hate to carpool," Pfeiffer joked at a press day event for her new film Chéri in New York City. "It's the part about getting up early."

The bonus is definitely the time she gets to spend with the kids. "I hate school as much as they do and I love summer vacation," says Pfeiffer. "I'm not that eager to send them off to camp for the summer. I'm the type of mom that likes having them around."

I think she is a good Mom. Those kids need a parent expecially since they are both in the "famous" stage. I think that she is doing the right thing. Parents should be a good role model for their children. Right on Pfeiffer.
