Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor has confirmed that they are investigating a complaint that alleges that Jon & Kate Plus 8 may be violating child labor laws."We're not saying that they are not complying with child labor laws. We're investigating a complaint," states Troy Thompson of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. "We're not saying that there was or was not a violation, just that we're conducting an investigation."
TLC responded to the allegation by saying the network "fully complies" with state laws and regulations.
The current controversies surrounding the show which features which Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight children have not hurt ratings. Monday's season five premiere drew a record 9.8 million viewers.
