Participants in the Escape to Miami Triathlon got the surprise opportunity to compete against the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, Matt Damon.Damon competed with a team that included his stepfather Jay Jones family friend Barry Hetherington (his brother Kyle competed solo and finished in 27th pace overall).
"'My brother talked me into it," Damon, 38, tells the Miami Herald.
Damon ran his 6.2 mile portion of the race in 59 minutes, 54 seconds. "I knew I was in trouble when the old guy with the oxygen tank passed me," he jokes.
Damon had ulterior motives for joining the race. He admits, "'I was doing this movie this summer The Informant where I had to put on all this weight, and my brother told me, 'October 5, save the date.' "
Damon was cheered on at the finish line by wife Luciana Bozán Barroso and their 7-week-old daughter Gia.
