Nicole Richie and Joel Madden introduced a new promotion for their Richie-Madden Children's Foundation at an ice cream social hosted by the Marble Slab Creamery at Beyond Shelter yesterday. The "Text CHILD to 90999" promo asks people to text the word "child" to 9-0999 in order to donate $5 to a children's charity that the couple sponsors.
At the Los Angeles event, the couple took time to talk with Extra about daughter Harlow and any future family expansion.
Some highlights:
On having more children together:
"If it happens, it happens," says Richie.
On eight-month-old daughter Harlow:
"She is pulling herself up standing ... we don't have to burp her anymore," says Richie
On her first words:
"She says 'mama' and 'dada. She says 'dada' when she wants to play. Wants to laugh. And 'mama' is everything else. When we walk into a place, she waves to everyone," says Madden.
On living in the spotlight with Harlow:
"My priority is to make her unaware. She's eight months now. I can't put her in the infant seat and cover her. She'd definitely know something's going on ... she wants to experience life and, as a mother, that's important," says Richie.
