Ellen Pompeo: The Clock Is Ticking

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has given a lot of thought to having babies and she opens up in the new issue of Allure about the subject.

Some highlights from the interview:

On having children with husband Chris Ivery:
"It's a huge lifestyle change, and I take that very seriously. We enjoy our life so much. We go to Europe and sleep in. So when I have the baby, I won't feel like we've missed any fun, reckless times together, like staying up all night drinking champagne and having sex until five in the morning and not having to get up until two in the afternoon. But I've got to get on it, because the clock is ticking."

On her wedding last year [she skipped the traditional white dress and wore a simple black dress by Yves Saint Laurent]:
"I get to dress up all the time. I completely understand women wanting a wedding, because most people don't get to dress up in gorgeous dresses and have their hair and makeup done. I, however, am fortunate enough that I get to put on beautiful dresses and makeup and jewels all the time."

On her Grey's Anatomy character, Meredith Grey:
"People love to watch a train wreck, I suppose."
