Michelle Williams spoke with Elle Magazine in January just days before the death of ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger.At the time, she was still trying to work through their breakup. "I didn't know where to go" she said of their split. "I couldn't imagine any place in the world that was gonna feel good to me."
Williams decided to turn to work in order to distract her from the breakup. She says, "when I have too much free time, that's when things start to get a little messy."
She also turned her focus to their two-year-old daughter, Matida. "She's bigger to me than any relationship, bigger than the awards," Williams says. "She's what came out of it."
