Joel Madden Has Started Baby's Musical Education Early

Joel Madden has already started the musical education for the baby he is expecting with Nicole Richie.

The daddy-to-be Madden is concentrating on the baby's musical education, while his brother Benji is laying claim to the child's sports education.

"We play a lot of music around the house," Madden said at Mets star David Wright's Do the Wright Thing Gala in New York. "Old stuff, new stuff, classic stuff, movie soundtracks."

Right now Madden and Richie are enjoying spending some time together getting ready for the baby who is due to arrive in January. He says, "We're excited, happy and spending a lot of time at home. ... Just normal, couple-expecting-a-baby stuff."

Joel's brother Benji is excited for his new role of Uncle. Benji says, "I'm going to teach [the baby] about life," he said. He does plan a special focus on sports. "I could coach the tee-ball team! Or teach them in soccer, whatever they want to do," he said.
