Britney Spears’ personal life may have harmed her public image, but it hasn’t hurt the album sales for her newest album.
Blackout sold an estimated 124,000 albums on the first day of its release Tuesday. It is set to become Spears’ fifth consecutive number one album.
The album is expected take the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the week.
The numbers are impressive, but do not recapture the same success as her previous albums. Her last disc, 2003’s In the Zone, sold 609,000 in its first week.
