Whoopi Goldberg to Add Her Opinions to The View

Whoopi Goldberg will be joining the ladies of The View this fall. The news was announced by Barbara Walters announced on mornings episode of the chatfest.

“I have known Whoopi for years. She is brilliant, funny and irrepressible, and is an enormously popular and talented star,” said Walters. “This is going to be a great new chapter for The View.”

Goldberg has made thirteen guest appearances and has been a guest co-host fourteen times. She make her debut as moderator on September 4.

She will fill the the chair of the show’s moderator, in essence filling the chair previously occupied by Rosie O’Donnell.
