Mary-Louise Parker is extremely proud of one thing in her life - her three-year-old son Will. "I'm someone who doesn't have a mass of talents in life, but I think I'm a good mother," Parker tells the U.K. Mail on Sunday's You magazine.
Parker and Will's dad, actor Billy Crudup, famously split while Parker was 8-month-pregnant with Will. At the time, Crudup left the pregnant Parker for the couple's friend, Claire Danes. Crudup and Danes have since split.
Parker has long been an acclaimed stage actress, but has putt working on the stage on hold until Will is older. "I like the time when it's just me and Will together," she says. "A play would have to be great to take me away from my child again."
She enjoys acting, but prefers to devote herself to raising Will. "It's nice to be focused on someone other than yourself," she says. "I kind of killed myself looking after Will in the beginning because I didn't want to leave him; I wanted to be the one there with him whenever I wasn't working.
"So I never went out, never went to the gym – I didn't want him to be picked up in the middle of the night by someone who was paid to pick him up."
