Joey McIntyre Gets Ready for Fatherhood on the Road

Joey McIntyre is busy getting ready for the arrival of his first child in November with wife Barrett. He reveals that their was a bit of luck of the Irish involved with her pregnancy - they found out she was expecting on St. Patrick's Day.

"Being an Irish guy that's a good luck charm!" McIntyre. "We're thrilled. We just moved into a new house so it's all coming together."

McIntyre will be doing much of the prep work for the baby on the road this summer on the Dancing summer tour with Barrett joining him on the tour.

"She's a little worried about some of the bumpy roads but I'm sure she'll be fine," says McIntyre - although he will take charge of the luggage. "I don't want her to lift anything," he says. "She'd rather do it herself than ask somebody so it’s frustrating for her to sit back and ask for me to do it."

Barrett has been having some cravings that he didn't quite expect. "She can't eat chocolate anymore," he says. "She keeps saying she loves chocolate, but the baby doesn't. She used to like chocolate and peanut butter and now she likes potato chips and salty stuff. It's definitely different."

McIntyre is ready to roll with the punches through her pregnancy. "They do all the work and the husband just has to stand by and roll with the changes," he says. "They're obviously going through a lot. You can't always figure it out exactly. You just have to be there and available."
