Queen Latifah is Nervous About Adopting an American Child

Queen Latifah is apprehensive about adopting an American child because the biological parents have up to three years to change their minds. The actress is determined to start a family by adopting an American child in need, but is beginning to understand why many Hollywood moms choose to adopt from overseas.

She says, "You can adopt someone here, and the birth parents have three years to come back and get that child. That's terrifying."

She is currently going through the process to become a foster parent with the help of her sister who is a New Jersey social worker.

She adds, "I'm optimistic. I'm not in it for the glamour. It's quite a gift."
