Julia Roberts is determined to finish converting her new $20 million Malibu home into an eco-friendly building before the birth of her third child this summer. The environmentally conscious actress is converting the home to solar-power and installing state-of-the art eco-friendly gizmos and gadgets.
An insider says, "Even the bathrooms will have recycled tiles."
She's even making plans to upgrade(?) her car to one that is more fuel efficient saying: "I have a hybrid car, but I want something that runs on vegetable oil. I think it's a small price to pay to smell like a French fry."

I just don't see the point in ripping something down that is functioning- like tile- only to waste resourses in the process just to replace it with something recycled? It won't function any differently. It's like taking all of the paper (from trees) you already purchased and throwing it out (unused) only to go out and buy new recycled paper. The garbage truck has to come and use gas and the worker needs to use gas to get there and then the paper is taken to the dump where more resourses are used only to say- hey I have recycled paper.
ReplyDeleteI think you should build new with those products and change what makes a difference on existing structures- lightbulbs, solar power, etc. All in all though I do commend her.
