Paul Bettany Nearly Lands in Hot Water in France

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany's son Stellan nearly landed Paul into trouble with French security officials on Wednesday.

As the family arrived in France, Stellan was questioned by security personnel over his identity. It seems his passport photo was taken when he was only a week old, and since he has an American passport and Paul has a British one it raised a few questions.

When security asked three-year-old his name Stelen replied, "I'm Luke". A confused passport control agent asked for confirmation of the child's identity and brought Paul over and asked the tot to identify his dad to which he replied, "No, that's not my daddy."

At this point the police were summoned. The police again question the child and ask "Well, who is this man? What is this man's name?"

Stellan finally clarifies his answer and responds, "That's Darth Vader!"

After few more rounds to explain the issue somone finally figured out the issue and the family was allowed to leave.

I heard Jenn tell that story on Letterman. Too cute! It's amazing the pull those movies still have on the imaginations of young children. What classics they are. Anyway I love this couple, they are adorable, and I hope to see much more of them and their family (and it looks like they could be adding one more!)

That is too funny. My daughter has occasionally made up stories (fibs) to other people, and it's like "What?! Wait a minute here..."

  3. Mine would do the same thing too.

I could easily see them telling a whole elaborate tale which makes perfect sense to them.
