Jenny McCarthy is busy promoting her new film for ABC Family, Santa Baby, and is featured in this weeks Sunday Life magazine. You’ve written Belly Laughs, about your pregnancy with your 4-year-old son, Evan, and Baby Laughs, about his infancy. What’s the funniest thing about motherhood? How you let yourself go. I look in the mirror, and I think, Oh, my God, I’ve had that mustache for three weeks.
You do not have a mustache. I do! I have to cut it. I even have three long black hairs that grow out of my cheek.
They don’t seem to deter the funnyman in your life, Jim Carrey. What makes you a good match? I’m a spiritual person, and I think that everyone is meant to be in your life, so this guy is supposed to be here right now.
It does seem fated: You’ve been called "Jim Carrey with [breasts]." I used to complain, "Jim Carrey can be goofy, why can’t I?" People gave me flak. But he’s somebody I looked up to—now we look side by side, together.
Would you like to get married again? No, I’m done. I love my own space. I think sometimes you turn into brother and sister [if you’re married]. I’d much rather put on makeup and go somewhere.
Well, you are the dating expert. Maybe in 10 years, I’ll write Dating Laughs. And I’ll call Jim "Boy No. 2"!
