Edward Burns Loves the Classics

He may be known as a Hollywood actor and director with such films as The Brothers McMullen to his credit. Ed Burns says he has finally found the role that suits him, being a dad!

"Love it. It's the best thing ever," says Burns.

Burns and his wife, Christy Turlington, have two children, three-year-old Grace and ten-month old Finn.

The couple face the same logistical challenges as other parents and trade off time between home and work. As he was introducing a special screening of "The Last Picture Show, she was home with the kids.

Even after years in the movie business, Burns still has a love of the cinema although sometimes he needs to remind himself why he's in the movie business. Seeing films like "The Last Picture Show" reinforce his love. He says, "It has been a film I could go to every couple years, especially when I am having a panicked moment of 'Remind yourself why you fell in love with movies and what it is you want to do.'"

He tries to share his love of movies with the kids. "We saw Happy Feet. The seals scared my daughter," Burns says.

His most recent film, The Groomsmen, just came out on video.
