It appears that we may not get to see pictures of Jayden James Federline in People magazine after all. In what can only be described as a calculated move, Britney Spears is shopping around pictures of her two-month-old son Jayden James, for absolutely free.
Since she's not one to do stuff gratis -- what's the inspiration for her selfless behavior? One more opportunity to stick it to her ex, Kevin Federline!
In the couple's prenup, Kevin is given the proceeds from the sale of any of their photos. If she gives them away, he gets nothing. He also has to give back any gifts that are valued over $10K -- so he pretty much gets to leave empty handed. Except of course for his record deal which has crashed and burned.
Another bonus of giving the photos away is that it can give her cover time on a much for high profile magazine -- like Vanity Fair or Rolling Stone. Telling her story to a higher profile magazine gives her a larger forum to get her side of the story out to the public.

Oh please. "Calculated move"?
ReplyDeleteThis is the work of her attorneys. Brit isn't bright enough to come up with the idea on her own.
More power to her but I think she would best serve herself by taking the high road and lying low. I am sure she remembers what bad publicity tastes like, yes?
I'm sure it was the lawyers who came up with the idea, but at least she seems to be listening to some more rational advice these days.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't think she's bright enough to come to this idea on her own. But I'm glad she's finally listening to someone's good advice rather than going out on her own. We've seen where that led her.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't actually consider her giving these photos to a publication as "free." It's actually going to save her a lot of money in the divorce settlement, so I'd say they are actually quite expensive in those terms. Kevin won't get a cent for them, Brit gets to keep her money, aha! Calculated and thrifty all at once. Smart call. Plus, I'm eager for her to class herself up after the last couple of years.
