The Star and Perez Hilton are reporting that Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have adopted a one year old orphaned boy in Malawi. Apparently, 12 children were selected prior to her arrival and she got to pick the boy from the twelve. "She asked us to identify boys only, which we have done after visiting four orphanages in Lilongwe," government spokeswoman Adrina Michiela said. According to the same spokesperson, Madonna had initially wanted to adopt a girl but changed her mind two weeks ago.
Update: Madonna's rep has denied the story that she has adopted a child. According to the rep she is in Malawi on a humanitarian mission and no adoption has taken place.
