Geri Halliwell Files Complaint with Child Protection Unit

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has complained to London police that her three-month-old daughter was allegedly physically abused according to the singer's assistant.

The complaint was made to the police Child Protection Unit on August 18, personal assistant Antony Read said.

The complaint was in regards to "an incident concerning her daughter Bluebell whilst in the care of a temporary member of staff."

"Bluebell is now happy and well, and there are no further concerns for her welfare," he added in a statement.

London's Metropolitan Police confirmed the force was investigating an allegation of physical abuse involving a three-month-old baby. No one has been arrested.

Update: As of today, the nanny involved who was employed by a golf course in Hampshire, England that Geri was visiting has been arrested for the incident.

Halliwell had left Bluebell in her care while she went for a walk on the grounds and came back to find the tot bawling with bruises on her arms. When the nanny refused to explain the marks, the police were contacted.

A police statement regarding the incident was released yesterday and confirms, "A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm in connection with an assault on a child. She was taken to a central London police station and bailed for return this month."

A source close to Halliwell said, "It is a huge relief to Geri that the nanny faces the British justice system."
