Heather Ledger to Play "The Joker"

Heath Ledger is set to join the newest Batman sequel, "The Dark Knight," as "The Joker". Christian Bale, the star of last year's "Batman Begins," will be returning to his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Christopher Nolan is returning to the directing chair. Not scheduled to return is Katie Holmes who played the romantic lead in last years film. An early 2007 start date is being eyed for the sequel.
