Reese Talking About Oscar Nom to BBC
"Every actor at the Oscars wants to win, I mean what's the point (otherwise). It's great to be there and I feel like, I'm 29 years old, I'm really lucky to be there and whatever happens I feel blessed.
"I have plenty of awards for this movie and I feel very, very blessed. If this was it for me, I would feel very content.
"I'm completely disappointed for Jim (James Mangold, who missed out on a best director nomination) because you can't make a movie by yourself. Joaquin and I did not direct ourselves. These things happen how they happen. I know Jim is very happy that the film is getting recognized in many ways.
"[The awards] all become about clothes, not films. It's very bizarre. It's funny how you work your butt off, win an award and it's all about your dress. You can't get away from it.
"I wish it wasn't the focus of everything. But having children who are sick on your shoes before you head out to an awards ceremony keeps you grounded.
"But I'm excited. It will be fun.
"My daughter sneaks my awards off to her room and dresses them up in clothes. She's become quite jaded about the whole thing. When we come home from awards she says: 'Well, did you get it or not? Where is it? Are we going to take it to my room?"
