Buff as she may have looked at the Grammys last week, Madonna required treatment for a hernia afterward but has fully recovered, her spokeswoman said on Thursday.
"She had a minor procedure for a hernia and is absolutely fine now," the rep told Reuters in London, providing no further details.
The New York Post reports that after the Feb. 8 Grammys ceremony at L.A.'s Staples Center – in which she opened the show with Gorillaz – Madonna went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the procedure. A hernia develops when the outer layers of the abdominal wall weaken, bulge or actually rip.
Wednesday night, the 47-year-old singer re-appeared in public when she accepted a Brit record industry statuette in London as Best International Female Artist of the year.
At the ceremony, husband Guy Ritchie accompanied Madonna, despite rumors that their marriage may be rocky, say British press reports.
