Things have gone from bad to worse in the Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards divorce according to PEOPLE.
On January 4, 2006, after a short reconcilation, the couple requested that their divorce proceed with a private arbitrator. Since the split the two have stopped speaking altogether. "It's gotten very ugly," someone close to Richards, tells PEOPLE. "They aren’t talking to each other at all."
The couple disagree on custody arrangements for their two daughters, Sam - almost two, and Lola - 8 months. According to their initial court petitions, Richards is seeking sole custody but Sheen wants joint custody.
"This has been really hard on Denise," says a Richards pal. "But she's staying strong for her daughters' sake."
Richards had initially filed for divorce last March while still pregnant with Lola, but the two were often seen together in recent months as they attempted to reconile. The final straw came after a Caribbean vacation together less than a month before the arbitrator took over their case.
