Post-baby slimdowns - Hollywood Style

It has been a busy few years for Hollywood moms. It seems every other month another A-lister is announcing their pregnancy. What is really amazing is how fast they shed those post baby pounds. Here are a few of their secrets:


  • Courtney Cox didn't follow harsh workout routine, but left the weight-loss to nature. Merely by walking on the beach with daughter, Coco, and breast feeding she lost most of her extra pounds. She also stuck to a diet of fress, organic foods that aided in her in returning to her pre-pregnancy weight.

  • Michelle Williams didn't gain alot of weight during her pregnancy which left her with less to lose afterwards. She tried to stick to a healthy diet during and after her pregnancy. She gives the entire credit to her newborn daughter, Matilda, and breast-feeding.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker credits the combo of fast metabolism, genetics, and breast-feeding to her rapid weight loss after giving birth to son James. Sarah did have the assistance of a personal trainer, her brother, and gave up chocolate in order to slim down.

  • Uma Thurman took three months off and then started an aggressive workout schedule to get into shape for the Kill Bill movies. Uma followed a strength training plan which included a combination of running, weights, yoga, and pilates six times a week. She also followed the Nutrifit diet system eating healthy low-calorie meals of who grains and lean proteins.

  • Christine Taylor shed her pregnancy pounds in a month without really trying. She gives the credit to chaising after her three-year-old daughter, Ella.

  • Reese Witherspoon made a concerted effort to minimize the weight she gained with her son Deacon in 2003. She practice regular pre-natal yoga throughout her pregnancy. After Deacon's arrival she shaped up with two-three hours a day of walking, running, or hiking.

  • Kate Hudson had the challenge of losing 60 baby pounds in a mere three and a half months to get in shape for the movie, The Skeleton Key. Kate devoted up to six hours a day to a rigorous workout regime!

  • Kelly Ripa's challenging schedule with two shows and three kids helped her shed those extra pounds after the arrival of Joaquin in 2003. She does try to minimize fried foods and eat more deep green vegetables.

  • Even after having two kids in two years, Denise Richards quickly regained her sexy figure only six weeks after daughter Lola was born last year. She credits working out routinely during her pregnancy with her ability to rebound so fast.

  • Heidi Klum shaped up so quickly she was back modeling lingerie two months after having son, Henry, in September. Being in shape during pregnancy and breastfeeding made it easier for her to shed a pound a day for the first five weeks after Henry's birth. He also stuck to a diet of lots of grains, greens, egg whites, and protein shakes.
