Note from Emma
We're taking a few days off from posting at Celebrity Moms.
As many of our daily readers know, my mother-in-law has been going through cancer treatment for the last few months. The cancer which started in her uterus spread to her spine and she had an initial surgery several weeks ago.
Unfortunately follow-up scans showed that she needs to have another surgery this week to remove more tissue and new growth. I have been shuffling her to various doctors and tests for the last few days after she started having numbness in her leg. The surgery is scheduled for later this week and she will have a longer stay in the hospital this time around.
Right now it looks like we have an open day tomorrow so I plan on catching up on our posting and get caught back up on all the exciting weekend arrivals.
Thanks!
Emma

Tea Leoni Walks Ageism in Hollywood
Tea Leoni is featured on the cover of the November issue of More magazine alongside Jane Fonda and Sharon Stone. In the article she talks about aging in Hollywood and no longer being "the chick of the flick", some highlights:
On why she believes older actresses are more interesting:
"It's not just that a 28-year-old doesn't have a lot of experience. It's that I don't worry about a 28-year-old, certainly not one who looks like most of the young leading ladies."
On thrilled not to be cast as "the chick of the flick":
"That's where your skirts are up to here and you're blissfully 20 years younger than your co-star -- and that would be his bliss and not necessarily my own. It simply becomes a different movie if you're 10 years older."
On the red carpet and paparazzi:
"The red carpet makes me feel like a bullsh-- artist. I don't hang with anybody who stalks press."
On her upcoming film, Manure:
"I'm basically made to look like Tippi Hedren. Hitchcock blonde is what we're going for. The entire movie is brown. Everything. The sets, the props, the wardrobe, the cars. And I'm the only thing in cream. It's funny, it's a very simple thread but at the same time it's all about our relationship to sh--. Our own, others', selling it, making it, smelling it, being offended by it, reveling in it, getting hit with it when it hits the fan. But at the same time, we have this incredible cast with Billy Bob Thornton, who is maybe my new favorite person in the world."

Faith Hill Finds the Courage to Pose in a Bikini Thanks to Pilates

Faith Hill is showing off her hard earned curves on the cover of the December issue of Shape magazine. The celebrity mom-of-three credits Pilates with giving her the courage and the curves to pose in a bikini.
"I could bend in ways I haven't been able to since I was a teenager," says Hill. "My husband [Tim McGraw] loves it!"
"I was always very athletic, playing basketball and softball and running track," she says. "But in my 20s and 30s, I'd go through phases with exercise, working out for four weeks before a big tour or video shoot and not doing much afterward. Then I had three kids [with McGraw, daughters Gracie, 11; Maggie, 10; and Audrey, 6] and turned 40, so I decided to make a lifestyle change."
Another factor in her decision to change her exercise regime and overall lifestyle was a knee injury that required her to have surgery in January 2008. Her recovery forced her to stop exercising for six months. "I had never gone that long without doing something," she says. "I was not happy."
She returned to exercising with a new vigor and the support of her husband. The two worked together on a daily routine that included four miles on the elliptical machine, some light weight lifting, crunches and push-ups.
"I found I slept better, had more energy and was stronger," says Hill, who later added Pilate's classes three times a week to the regime.
"It was so hard, but ultimately so worth it. My core is much stronger, and my arms are more toned. In fact, wearing a bikini on a magazine cover is my 41st birthday present to myself."

David Banda's Father Talks About Madonna Divorce
The biological father of Madonna and Guy Ritchie's adopted son, David Banda, has given his opinion of the recent announcement of the couple's divorce."I am still a poor farmer with nothing to offer, but maybe he'd be better off back with us," he tells the British newspaper The Sun.
"This woman, Madonna, told me herself that David was beautiful and made her happy and she promised to take care of him," Yohane Banda says. "Now I see him in a big bewildering crowd in the street with people pushing and shoving, and many cameras around, and without a mother and father to hold his hand. I'm feeling bad for him."
Madonna and Ritchie adopted David in 2006 from a Malawi orphanage. Since the adoption, David's biological dad has remarried and moved his family into a thatched hut with his new wife. He and his wife have a three-year-old daughter and a seven-month-old son.
"I have the joy of a new family and I even have a new son," he adds. "But now, when I think of David in danger of living outside a family life, I find it unbearable."
